A nonprofit has recently hit a milestone in reducing a feral cat problem at farms across the Northeast Kingdom.
The group traps, spays or neuters, and then returns cats once they’ve healed. And they are now celebrating their 2,000th cat helped.
Any cats who can be adopted are placed in shelters. They’ve worked at a total of 115 farms in the Kingdom and have also placed 650 cats into forever homes.
Furthermore, they have reduced the feral cat population by about 95 percent in Orleans County.
The group is currently working with other groups in neighboring counties to help there, also.
