There is little in this entire world that makes us cat people happier than a successful animal rescue story with a happily ever after, and this amazing one comes from St. Louis, Missouri.
The Stray Rescue of St. Louis is actually the largest no-kill organization of its kind in St. Louis and the surrounding area. They focus most of their attention on rescuing animals who are in dire need of help – the abused, abandoned, neglected, and those who are in need of veterinary treatment.
Meet Nicodemus, a beautiful smoky grey domestic shorthair cat rescued by Stray Rescue of St. Louis, and his new adoptive mom.
When the rescue first took him in, both his top and bottom jaw were broken, and he tested positive for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV+).
Rescuers were extremely worried the sweet cat might not survive his injuries, but by the looks of him, he is doing wonderfully and even enjoys a good tummy rub!
It was true love at first sight for Nicodemus and his new mom. Upon meeting, he immediately snuggled up on her and then crawled into her lap for a cat nap.
Nicodemus’ story is a truly beautiful and amazing example of why it is so valuable to adopt, not shop. With in upwards of 5,500 innocent animals being killed in shelters across the United States each and every single day, rescuing an animal companion is incredibly valuable and rewarding.
