Family Adopted 20-year-old Senior Cat, Never Expected He Had So ..

UTAH – This senior kitty was already 20-years-old when a kind-hearted family gave him a home to call his own. Meanwhile, they had absolutely no idea just how much love he had left to give.

This is Dexter!

The family, who live in Utah, originally went to Best Friends Animal Society in hopes of finding a young kitten to adopt.

Instead, they ended up getting their hearts completely stolen by a charming senior kitty.

Dexter was 20-years-old already, and they just knew he didn’t have a lot of time left. Nevertheless, they decided to take a chance on the sweet old toothless cat and gave him a home to live out his retirement.

On the day Dexter moved into his brand new forever home, he cuddled up to his human, JJ, and the two bonded instantly. JJ insisted on feeding him and being the one to care for his new best bud.

Each and Every day Dexter reminded his family just how grateful he was to finally have the loving home he had waiting all his life for!

He would burrow himself deep into the crooks of their arms and rub his head against them for hours while purring up a storm.

Not only did he get along with his human family, he was also the leader of the family wolf pack.

His new doggie pals looked up to him and were very protective of him.

Dexter showered everyone he came across with unconditional love.

He loved to talk and demanded to eat his breakfast at 4:30AM each and every morning. His meow was kind of grumpy sounding, and he wouldn’t leave you alone til he got what he wanted.

In typical cat fashion, he was, of course, the king of the household.

His favorite activity of all was cuddling.

Dexter was the happiest kitty he could possibly be.

He lived two happy years with his new family before he left for the rainbow bridge.

“We will never forget the love and happiness he gave in his very short time with our family. Rest in peace, Dexter.”

“It’s never too late to save a life. There are so many great animals waiting to find their forever home in shelters across the country.”
