The owner of the vehicle drove to Fire Station 13 asking for help to rescue the trapped cat. “When he pulled up, he stated, ‘We know it’s still alive ’cause it’s screaming in there,’ and he was just scared,” said Firefighter Stephanie Pingol, who is the one who ultimately rescued the kitten.

She explained to 7News just how stuck the kitten was. “He was over in the corner, so from the other side, the driver was kinda just poking at him, trying to get him out,” she said. “As soon as he came out, I grabbed him.”

The kitten was a little scared and very dirty, but all in all, he was just fine. For now, his new firefighter friends have fed him and given him a comfy bed. Whether it’s a cat in a tree or a cat stuck in a car, this is all in a day’s work for these hero firefighters. “Whatever we can,” Pingol said, “whatever we can do.”
