SWITZERLAND – A man has recently shared a heartwarming tale about how a hero cat rescued him from a mountain after he got lost. The grateful man was wandering around the Bernese Oberland area in Switzerland when he became a bit confused and disorientated.
Caught up in a labyrinth of trails and needing certain rest an earlier injury to his ankle he decided to take a seat on a rock – which is when his black and white savior came along. Writing under the name Redditor sc4s2cg, he stated: “I happened on this little kitty as I was exploring some of the places near my hostel.
“The lifts weren’t working and some of the trails were closed so what I did was follow a roundabout trail up the mountain, and then follow those ski lifts further.
“I was checking my map to see how I can get back to the hostel, and the only official way down was through a trail that was closed.
“And that’s how I met that handsome cat.
“He noticed me I was eating a snack and resting my sprained ankle, and as soon as I got up she started guiding me along some path.
“He was walking and kept looking at me to follow, led me straight to the path that would take me back down to the valley.”
Since sharing his story on Reddit last Friday, people have absolutely fallen in love with the cat – with many believing that they may have met him on their travels as well. Under an image he posted about his furry Sat Nav, he wrote: “Along the way he just stopped, hopped on a small boulder, and started listening for something.
“I’m assuming his next meal. I was lucky enough to take this beautiful shot.”
The man was there during the end of ski season and he was staying at the Lauterbrunnen Hostel back in 2013. Redditors believed the cat may actually belong to a couple called Petra and Walt who run the Mountain Hostel.
