Terminally Ill Child’s Dream To Have a Kitten Of His Own Comes True

The boy’s name is Ryan Mott. Sadly, the boy suffers from a form of cancer called DIPG.

DIPG stand for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. It’s a disease which strikes at the heart of childhood. It is a condition for which effective treatment and a cure are still desperately needed. Ryan has glial tumors found in the base of his braim, which are highly aggressive and difficult to treat.

Imagine being just 8 years old and learning that you have this “condition.”

One of Ryan’s biggest wishes in life was to have a furry friend of his own. And just this past Saturday, Ryan was granted his wish.

Ryan was taken to Stafford County Animal Shelter and he seemed to immediately bond with a kitten named Sadie, who is just 10 months old.

It didn’t take long for the kitten to decide to climb up little Ryan, lay down and begin to purr and purr.

The boy and the kitten immediately fell in love and it was clear to everyone that Sadie had “chosen” young Ryan to be her forever human.

A worker at the shelter said, “In his arms she purred and gave kisses to him like she was saying that you are my human.”

“This is therapy for Ryan. They love each other,” Michelle Calvin Mott, who is Ryan’s mother, said. “The kitty just lays in his chest all day.”
