Feeling squeamish? If you are, then this video is not for you. A recently posted footage of a vet pulling a giant pulsating parasite from a kitten’s nose has gone viral online in the past few days. A woman brought the 8-week old to the vet after it suffered from chronic nasal discharge.
After closely examining the kitten, then vet found out that the discharge was caused by a Botfly larva in the kitten’s nostril. Poor thing. The huge thing was taken out with a forceps after the kitten was sedated, of course. According to the vet, it was one of the largest larvaes he’s ever seen!
It still remains unclear how the parasite got to the kitten’s nose, but we’re glad it’s out of there.
