Nutmeg – the World’s Oldest Cat – Gets Ready for Another ‘Paw-fect’ Christmas!

Well, it looks like its going to be a paw-fect Christmas for this beautiful senior cat as he celebrates being the world’s oldest cat!

Tabby Nutmeg is 31, although, he does not look his age – which is 141 in cat years.

The tabby is a web sensation with just about 6.5 million online hits and fans from all over the globe.

His owners, Liz and Ian Finlay, are determined to make this Christmas season his very best, just in case he’s not around for another.

They have wrapped up plenty of treats in an attempt to spoil him. Retired baker Ian, who is 67, of Blaydon, Tyne and Wear, stated: “It’s so much fuss just over a cat, but he is our cat.

“On Christmas Day we unwrap presents and have dinner with family. Nutmeg and I usually get saved a turkey leg each.”

Liz, 62, went on to add: “He’s always loved Christmas.”

Nutmeg was taken in as a stray a whopping 26 years ago by the couple, who have no children. Vets claim he was five at the time.

However, the Guinness Book of World Records will not recognise the oldest cat claim as there is no proof of his birth date.

A Siamese called Scooter from Mansfield, Texas, was briefly the world’s oldest but he passed on last May.

Merry Christmas, Nutmeg!
