Teenager ‘Shot at Least Eight Pet Cats and Killed One in Air Rifle Rampage!

ENGLAND – A teenager has shot at least eight cats – killing one – in a $6,500 air rifle rampage through a county, a court heard recently.

Franky Mills, who is 19, of Farncombe, Surrey, went on a shooting spree between March 15 and April 1 with a 0.22 caliber air rifle, Guildford Crown Court heard.

Police have revealed that injuries suffered by the eight cats included lost eyes, an amputated leg and also a bisected spleen – and one of the animals died.

Mills has denied causing criminal damage and possessing a firearm.

The charges all relate to pet cats including Maisie, owned by Michelle Underwood.

Other cats involved include Bomber, who is owned by Catherine Banks; Ruby, owned by Kara Salvador; Black and White, who is owned by David Harding; and Coco, who is owned by Catherine Moodie.

The three other cats were Pebbles, owned by a woman named Teresa Hammond; Dexter, owned by Matthew Turner; and Snoopy, who is owned by Sally-Ann Harry.

Mills was remanded on bail on the sole condition he must stay out of Cranleigh. He was also banned from possessing any type of air weapon.

A trial has been set for January 16 next year.

Speaking outside court after a previous hearing, Surrey Police Sergeant Paul Eden stated: ‘He has been accused of shooting eight cats with an air weapon.

‘Of these cats, there was one death, lost eyes and an amputated leg. We are talking about maiming. One cat suffered a bisected spleen.’
