A young couple was just sitting at home on a rainy day, when they caught sight of a small sound and a rustle in the grass.
Not certain just what might emerge, Rachael called out to the creature as it continue to approach them. Out from the saturated grass emerged a tiny tuxedo kitten – totally and completely drenched from the rain and shivering cold.
She immediately picked the little baby up and immediately pressed him to her skin. They looked all around, however, saw no mother cat nearby, so they brought him into the house to get warm and dry.
“My boyfriend immediately fell in love and said “I need this animal.” And he certainly seemed to need us!” stated Rachael.
Although the couple was able to finally warm the little one up, he quickly became hypoglycemic as the result of undernourishment. And so, they decided to rush the baby to the nearest emergency animal hospital and sought immediate treatment.
The little kitten was so merrily ill, that he had to stay at the hospital for three days. The vets didn’t even think he would survive, however, the tiny kitten (now named Morrie), pulled through.
Rachael and her boyfriend, whose name is Brendon, visited each and every day after work and eagerly brought him home to receive 24/7 TLC. The love of his new family greatly helped Morrie to recover.
“The vets really didn’t think he would make it! He is our little miracle and what my boyfriend and I are calling the start of our family.”
Obviously totally in love with their new little fur baby, the couple have absolutely no regrets despite the huge vet bills they racked up to save his life:
“(I) gave my whole paycheck to the animal hospital to save his guy. Worth it,” Rachael stated. “I work at a Children’s Home – I do my best to help humans and animals!”
Rachael went on to explain that the couple chose the name Morrie because he was found on a Tuesday and he seemed very wise. He was named after the author Mitch Albom’s popular novel called: Tuesdays With Morrie.
“Morrie is already wearing a tuxedo so he’s ready for the wedding,” Rachael concluded. “This little fur baby symbolizes the start of our life together. I couldn’t be more lucky.”
