Kennedy Lysons says a roommate found the note attached to their door in the South Main Market area at around 3 p.m., March 24. He took a picture of it and posted it to Facebook.

The note reads as follows:

“Do you own a small black cat? I suggest not allowing it to roam freely at night in other people back yard. This is a warning as it is causing damage and taunting my pets.
You may end up with a sick or possibly dead cat.”

Lysons says he does have two cats. One stays inside all the time and the other one is in the house, not always, but most of the time.

“We know it wasn’t our cat, so the person didn’t even leave the note on the right door, but they are still threatening our animals,” he says.

Lysons says his cats sometimes sit at the window where they might have been seen by whatever loser wrote the note.

He says they have absolutely no idea who might have left the note, which looks like a photocopy.

“We thought it might have been left everywhere, but we talked to some of our other neighbours and no one else got (it),” he says. The incident was reported to the strata manager.

Lysons cautions his neighbors to be aware of the issue and be on point.

“Be careful, because someone is clearly is threatening cats, threatening someone else’s animals,” he says. “It’s a despicable thing to do. If you live in the South Main area, don’t let your cats out too much, or if you do, watch them.”
